San Francisco Rooftopping: Under Construction – California, U.S.A.
As a city with stringent construction laws, your choice of skyscrapers being built to try rooftopping in San Francisco are slim.
Luckily, there’s always that one place that is just right…
I found it situated centrally in downtown. You would be hard pressed to simply walk right in, walls are high, cameras clearly placed, and a well lit entrance. Take a deeper look though, and all the pieces and gaps you need to succeed are in place.
I wasn’t the first there, and hopefully not the last. I thought alike someone that night, and found they had cleared much of the way to get me in.
I still had the fun of trudging up the 40+ floors. The echoes of each step followed me up as I made my way.
Taking the last step, I walked out to see this…
The city noises drowned away, but it’s never completely quiet at the top. Odd pieces of metal clanging, and the wind whistling around the exterior, keep your ears active and searching.
I spent more time than I normally do, and hung out for a while messing around and taking in the view from up above. Many parts of San Francisco have strict legislation around how high buildings can be built, so getting into a high rise was more gratifying than usual.
I took my final pictures and headed down.
You won’t find San Francisco rooftopping in any guidebooks, but this city, like any other, has gems worth exploring and seeing.
